Why do you need to Cut your Boundary hedges?

Hedges are great for the environment as they provide homes for insects and wildlife essential for the environment. However farmers need all the land they can to farm for maximise crop yield. Cutting hedges prevents them growing out into fields and reducing the land available for cropping and grazing. By cutting them they will grow thicker and will act as a living fence.

Hedges are important for the environment preventing soil leaching and pesticides reaching the water course as well as providing soil stability and adding nutrients in to the ground. They also house important wildlife.
